Creating a Sanctuary Together

When a child or a young person is experiencing painful feelings they need a space to be heard, to be seen, to be understood and responded to. Today's challenges make it increasingly more difficult for parents and professionals at schools to provide that space.

In therapy, together with the child or a young person we create a sanctuary, where they have the freedom to think, feel and play, to explore and express everything that is in their mind and heart. In the safety of the therapy room they can experience the supportive presence of a trusted adult who is there just for them.

In that safe space the child or a young person develop their capacity to reflect and regulate their emotions, they build resilience and relational security. As a result, their self-esteem improves, they begin to have empathy for others and become more open to learn and engage with the world.
